Church Response – Raleigh Moravian Church
Following the 2014 Synod, which called on churches to have dialogue regarding the issues of homosexuality and the church, Raleigh Moravian Church held a number of meetings to discuss the issue. Prior to the 2018 Synod, the congregation seemed in agreement; so after the discussions, a special Church Council (a meeting of all members) was called to consider the issue.
Immediately before the special Church Council, the Rev. Dr. Craig Troutman, pastor of the congregation, preached this sermon:

The RMC Church Council then unanimously passed this resolution expressing acceptance of all people, regardless race, gender identity, age, national origin, or sexual orientation:
The Joint Board of Raleigh Moravian Church later passed a resolution that clearly stated clarified policy that all aspects of the church ministry were available to all members, regardless race, gender identity, age, national origin, or sexual orientation.
